The Directorate of Higher Education, Assam, in collaboration with SAMARTH e-Gov, has released the step-by-step application process for Mukhya Mantrir Nijut Moina Aasoni (MMNMA) and Mukhya Mantrir Nijut Babu Aasoni (MMNBA) 2026.
Students who are eligible for these schemes can submit their applications through the Student SAMARTH Portal. Applicants must carefully enter their personal, academic and bank details and complete Aadhaar authentication before the application can be successfully submitted.

How to Apply for MMNMA/MMNBA 2026 Online
Students can follow the steps below to complete their application.
Step 1: Login to the Student SAMARTH Portal
Students who are already registered on the Assam SAMARTH Portal can log in using their:

After entering the details, click on Login.
Step 2: Register if You Are a New User
If a student has not previously registered on the Student SAMARTH Portal, an “Incorrect username or password” message may appear.
In that situation, the student should click on the Register option to register as a new user.
The student needs to enter the SAMARTH Enrolment Number and CAPTCHA and then click on Register.
Step 3: Verify Through OTP
After registration is initiated, an OTP will be sent to the student's registered email address.
The student must enter the OTP and click on Submit.
The registered email is the email address that was used during registration on the SAMARTH Admission Portal. If the student cannot access the registered email or does not remember it, the college/university can change the registered email and phone number through the Institutional SAMARTH Portal.
Step 4: Reset the Password
After successful OTP verification, the applicant can create a new password.
Enter the new password, confirm it and click on Reset Password.
The student can then log in using the SAMARTH Enrolment Number, new password and CAPTCHA.
Step 5: Open the Scholarship Section
After successfully logging in to the Student SAMARTH Portal, click on the Scholarship option.
Inside the Scholarship section, click on Apply to access the MMNMA/MMNBA application form.
Step 6: Enter Aadhaar-Seeded Bank Account Details
One of the most important requirements of the application is the bank account.
The bank account entered in the application must be Aadhaar-seeded/linked. The Bank Name, Branch Name and IFSC Code must also correspond to the Aadhaar-seeded bank account.
Without Aadhaar seeding/linking of the bank account, the benefit transfer through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) will not be initiated.

An OTP will then be sent to the mobile number linked with Aadhaar. Enter the OTP and click on Verify & Continue.
Successful Submission
If Aadhaar and OTP verification are successful, the MMNMA/MMNBA application will be saved and submitted successfully.
If Aadhaar verification fails, the application will show a Submission Failed message.
Step 11: Submit the Printed Application to Your Institution
After successful online submission, an email will be sent to the student's registered email ID.
Students must also submit the filled-up hard copy of the MMNMA/MMNBA application form to their respective College/University authority for verification.
How to Link Aadhaar with Bank Account for MMNMA/MMNBA
Students whose bank accounts are not Aadhaar-seeded can complete the seeding process through the NPCI Bharat Aadhaar Seeding Enabler (BASE).
The official guide states that students can access the NPCI website and select the relevant Aadhaar seeding option.
Aadhaar Seeding Steps
Enter your Aadhaar Number.
Select Seeding under Request for Seeding.
Select your bank from the dropdown list.
Select Fresh Seeding under Seeding Type.
Enter the bank account number you want to link with Aadhaar.
Confirm the account number.
Accept the declaration.
Enter the CAPTCHA.
Click Submit.

Important Note About NPCI Mapping
Aadhaar linking/seeding with a bank account and NPCI bank account mapping are related but different processes.
If students face problems while completing Aadhaar seeding through NPCI, they should approach their bank for NPCI account mapping and completion of the required e-KYC process.
MMNMA/MMNBA 2026 Eligibility and Non-Eligibility
