TOLL GATES IN ASSAM
From petrol, diesel, cooking gas to sweets, refined oils, edible oils, potatoes, onions, vegetables, etc., the prices of essential commodities have skyrocketed, making life miserable in Assam. The National Highways Authority (NHAI) has announced an increase in toll charges for the first time since the government first installed several new toll gates on the Assam road. Increasing toll or tollgate charges on all vehicles, from small four-wheelers to buses, trucks, and donkeys, will increase the burden on drivers or owners of vehicles. Due to the increase in the number of toll gates, vehicles will have to pay toll at the toll gates in several places. There will be more and more money now, especially for buses and other passenger vehicles, haulage trucks.
This will naturally increase the load of passengers, increase the load of trucks and hence increase the price of goods by the traders. In the end, the media is on the rise. Whether it is the Center or the state government, no measures have been taken to reduce the prices of essential commodities. The central government no longer intends to keep essential items as essentials. Traders unfairly charge essential commodities. Despite the increase, the government and the departmental authorities do not seem to be interfering in any way.In such a scenario, the government will help in increasing the price of passengers and luggage. The government argues in favor of setting up toll gates at the expense of road construction and repairs. It is argued that the central government has set up toll gates for road repairs. But why is the toll gate rate not increasing at the same rate as the developed states on the highways of Assam, one of the most backward states in the country? In the name of the National Highway, all the small and straight roads in Assam have been repaired in time.
Is this road being improved? However, due to the poor condition of roads and poor or faulty construction, a number of road accidents have been reported. By setting up toll gates in the name of road repairs and increasing tolls, the government has in fact hit Ram Tangon at the head of the public. All kinds of taxes, including road tax, have fallen on Bajaj Rise. Directly or indirectly, the general public has become rich in the name of various taxes. On the other hand, there are allegations that big businessmen and capitalists are not raising money in the name of road construction or repairs. The most common variable is toll. People have been forced to pay higher tollgate charges and increased prices for goods. In this case, the whole issue needs to be reconsidered.
